Summary of Fundraising Programs

CHILD SAFETY ID PROGRAM- Quantum personnel set up tables with toys, electronics, books, and D.A.R.E. merchandise usually in front of big box retail outlets. Quantum will pay local D.A.R.E. programs $100 per week, per location, if a local D.A.R.E. officer helps them secure a location.

FAST WAX (FW-1) PROGRAM- Fast Wax personnel set up tables with the FW-1 waterless wax and D.A.R.E. merchandise in front of gas stations or convenience stores with gas stations. FW-1 will pay local D.A.R.E. programs $100 per week, per location, if a local D.A.R.E. officer helps them secure a location.

CHILDRENS TOY PROGRAM- The Child Safety program (Quantum) also sells toys at their tables; those wishing to buy the toys and donate them to needy children will place them in a box. The Child Safety staff will give all toys collected to the local D.A.R.E. agencies.

PREMIER BOOKS SCHOOL PROGRAM- Premier Books personnel place various toys, electronics, and books in the teachers lounge. Order requests are usually faxed to the Premier Books rep and one week later he or she returns with the merchandise and collects the money. There is no selling to children. Premier Books will pay a local D.A.R.E. program $100 for every new school a D.A.R.E. officer helps them secure.

PREMIER BOOKS GIFT FAIRS- Premier Books sets up at least 10 tables of electronics, books, toys, household items, and other gifts in the cafeteria or common area of large public buildings like hospitals or city/county municipal buildings. They can also set up inside large companies. Premier Books provides 10% of proceeds back to the local D.A.R.E. program.

D.A.R.E. CANDLES- D.A.R.E. Candles has joined with D.A.R.E. to offer the public attractive candles in a variety of scents. Each candle will provide you with hours of enjoyment, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to a worthy cause. Another creative way to raise funds for your local D.A.R.E. program.

KDA Board Meeting

 

KDA Board Meetings are generally held on the same day of each Kentucky DARE Training Center DARE officer graduation and on the last day of the State Conference in June.  All board members are encouraged to attend the graduation and then the board meeting to follow.

 

The next board meeting: January 27th, 2012 following the graduation of DARE Officer Training Class #62.
